Ancestry.com - Library Edition

Did you know that the Greenfield Public Library provides access to the genealogy website, Ancestry? Ancestry can be used to research family history. It provides access to census data, military records, immigration records, etc.
To access Ancestry on your device, you must be in the library and connected to our Wi-Fi. You can also log on using one of our public computers.

Study Rooms

Looking for a quiet, private place to study? Maybe a place to do some group work? The Library has four study rooms: one room that can seat up to six people, one room that can seat up to four people, and two rooms that can seat two people each. These rooms cannot be reserved and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
To use a study room, bring either your library card or ID with you and sign in at the Adult Reference Desk. Patrons can use a room for two hours per day. Click the link below to see our full Study Room Policy.

Online Learning Update

As of March 1, the Milwaukee County Federated Library System will be retiring Gale Courses, one of our online learning platforms previously available to Greenfield Public Library Cardholders. While we continue to research additional online learning options to ensure we’re providing the best possible resources for our community, we invite you to explore two of our other online learning resources, Udemy and Transparent Language.
With Udemy’s video-based, self-paced classes, you can learn on your own schedule and focus on topics that matter most to you. Udemy offers a wide range of courses, from professional skills to personal interests and more.
Transparent Language Online provides a fun and engaging experience for learners of all levels looking to build their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in a foreign language. Equipped with lessons in over 100 languages, including English lessons in 26 languages, there is something for every learner. Additionally, Transparent Language offers KidSpeak, a learning program tailored specifically for your youngest learners.
Both Udemy and Transparent Language can be accessed on a desktop and downloaded as an app, giving learners the flexibility to learn however and wherever they like. To access these resources, visit the links below and follow the steps to create a free account using your library card.
