Staff Recommendation

Staff Recommendation: Sherril recommends Solito by Javier Zamora.

Solito is a powerful and moving memoir about a nine-year-old boy’s journey from El Salvador to the United States to reunite with his parents. Told through a child’s perspective, the story captures the fear, uncertainty, courage, and resilience involved in making this dangerous journey.

This book is recommended to anyone interested in stories about family, identity, and the immigrant experience. It is an inspiring reminder of the courage it takes to leave everything familiar behind in search of a better future.
